Where Is Your Peace?

Just last week, we were horrified to hear and see the systemic acts of terror in Paris, France where over a hundred were killed. Such atrocity left the world aghast, and our hearts go out to the families of the victims of the terrible attacks. Even miles away here in Singapore, the events stirred up feelings of unrest and uncertainty. Perturbed, I asked myself, “Where is my peace?” And God reminded me, from His word in Psalm 23:4 (NIV), “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me”. Dear family and friends of FCBC, always remember that as disciples, we can go to God with our fears, anxious thoughts and troubles. We can and must learn to look to God’s word to find our peace in such challenging times.

In truth, such unfortunate situations present us with the opportunity to share God’s gift of salvation and His peace. Like us, when those who’ve yet to receive eternal life are confronted with such madness, they may be afraid and confused too, in fact even more so. So dear disciples, please don’t miss this opportune time to share the good news with them because it’s during such vulnerable times that their hearts are more open to accept God’s sovereignty and peace in their lives.

“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?”
Psalm 56:3-4 (NKJV)
