What is faith to you?
This weekend, we’re starting a new series of messages that’s all about faith. We’ll be spending some time talking about what faith is to us, and how we can live by faith.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11 that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance of what we do not see. That very same chapter also tells us that it is impossible to please God without faith. So clearly, faith has to be something important for us to talk about. After all, we are called FAITH Community Baptist Church.
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to look through Hebrews 11 and study the lives of some of the giants of the faith who have gone before us. Two words that are repeated several times in this passage are “by faith”. It’s interesting that whatever these men and women did for God that qualified them to be spiritual giants had to be done by faith.
Church, faith can be many things. To me, one of the key things about faith is action. Faith isn’t something to only be talked or read about. Faith is something that must be demonstrated and lived out. I’m really excited for what is to come through this series, so get ready to challenge yourself and step out in faith!
