Chinese Communications Executive

Overview

As part of FCBC’s Corporate Communications team, the Chinese Communications Executive supports FCBC’s translation and communications needs across various media platforms for our Chinese-speaking audiences. This includes ensuring accurate, culturally relevant, and consistent messaging while effectively communicating FCBC’s vision, initiatives, events, and stories of impact.

The ideal candidate is a strong bilingual communicator with excellent translation and Chinese copywriting skills to craft clear, engaging, and meaningful content for both church members and external stakeholders. The role also requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage administrative and coordination tasks effectively.

The Executive will also support communications efforts for local and international events, conferences, and ministry initiatives, while supporting the team to conceptualise and execute communication strategies that strengthen engagement and raise awareness of FCBC’s ministries and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality translation (English-Chinese and vice-versa), Chinese copywriting, editing, and proofreading across a wide range of communication platforms and media, including sermon slides, websites, digital forms, publicity materials, social media content, videos, training materials, and other communications.
  • Ensure all translated and written materials are culturally appropriate, linguistically accurate, with consistency in terminology and messaging that aligns with the FCBC’s tone, values, and communication standards.
  • Support the preparation, formatting, and layout of presentation slides and communication materials for prayer meetings, services, and other event / Conference deliverables.
  • Support to craft responses for Chinese-language enquiries and feedback.
  • Assist in content planning and execution for digital and social media platforms to promote church initiatives, events, and stories of transformation to strengthen engagement with Chinese-speaking audiences.
  • When required, monitor news that is relevant to the church and provide summaries when required.
  • Support administrative and coordination tasks and any other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Preferred Skills

Language Requirements

  • Excellent command of both Chinese and English, and highly proficient in English–Chinese and Chinese–English translation and proof-reading.
  • Good Chinese copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear and engaging content across various communication platforms.
  • Good understanding of Chinese cultural nuances and sensitivities, to ensure audience-appropriate messaging.

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • A recognised diploma or degree in Mass Communications, Chinese Language, Translation, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or other related disciplines.
  • Professional certification in translation or language studies will be advantageous, though not mandatory.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Relevant experience in translation, Chinese content development, or related functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under tight timelines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively across different teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Powerpoint.

Work days are from Tuesday to Saturday.
