2018 - Year Of Prayer & Fasting

The recent LoveSingapore Summit was very special. For one, it had the highest attendance since its inception 23 years ago. This Summit marked a new level of unity among the churches in Singapore, and was pivotal in ushering the churches into a new season of revival and spiritual breakthroughs.

Come May 2019, the National Council of Churches Singapore, Evangelical Fellowship of Singapore and LoveSingapore network of churches will unite our hearts at a historic gospel rally held at the Singapore Sports Hub, to declare that 2019 will be a year of great harvest. This spiritual breakthrough can only be realised when the churches of Singapore seek the Lord earnestly in prayer. This is why we declared at the Summit that 2018 will be a year of prayer and fasting for all the churches in Singapore.

We must obey Christ’s call given to us in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

The word “ask” in this verse is a very emphatic word, meaning “to implore” or “to beg”. The leadership of Singapore’s churches has heard from the Lord that it is time for the harvest. So we must pray in unity and spiritual desperation for the Lord to awake and raise up believers who will believe Him for this mighty harvest.

As we enter this year of prayer, we need to understand that this battle for the souls of men can only be won on our knees before the Lord. Prayer is more than just preparation for the ministry of evangelism. Prayer itself is the battle. The ministry of winning the lost is in fact reaping the victory we have first won in prayer. God has spoken about this coming revival. FCBC, let’s join in this spiritual battle for the souls of the pre-believers.
