An insight to Faith
Community Baptist Church's Japanese Ministry
Japan is also known as the land of the rising sun. It
is also one of FCBC's adopted Unreached People Groups
(UPG). As such, our Japanese Ministry has a vision to
reach Japan and redeem the country for God's destiny.
Like the rising sun, we want to let Jesus' light shine
out of Japan to the rest of Asia.
The ministry has many outreach programmes to reach out
to the Japanese. We also aim to plant G12 cells and
churches in Japan and will do it by four strategies:
| 1. |
To evangelise and
disciple the Japanese in Singapore |
| 2. |
To raise laborers
to send them out to Japan |
| 3. |
To build business
platforms to bridge Japan and the nations |
| 4. |
To establish a
network for Japan's harvest |
Currently, we have three vibrant and growing Japanese
cell groups, of which one is in Japanese for housewives
held on Tuesday mornings and two in bilingual, for working
adults, held on Tuesday and Friday nights.
We also run various outreach programs and events such
as the Alpha Course, parenting course under Focus on
Family, as well as seasonal events such as Chinese New
Year party, Easter and Christmas Specials with caroling
to reach the Japanese residing in Singapore.
Besides these outreach arms, we
believe that prayer is the key to winning people for
Christ. Thus, the ministry has a UPG Prayer Meeting
for Japan every third Saturday of the month held at
House of Prayer, St. Andrews Center. This is open to
everybody who has a calling to pray for the nation.
Magic of Love (MOL) was first
brought to Japan in 2004, followed by G12 Conference to
Tokyo in June, 2005. FCBC’s Japanese Ministry traveled
to Japan to support the events. The second MOL was performed
in Tokyo in September 2005. Five churches in Tokyo adopted
the G12 vision, and now we are working hand in hand with
these churches to multiply this vision in the Japanese
churches.
