G12 Spotlight: Pastor Sara Castellanos

How are you adapting to Singapore so far?

It’s been great! It’s hot, but I’m used to hot. I lived in Miami.

How do you think the people in Colombia have progressed so far towards the G12 vision?

Well, G12 was born in Colombia, and I’ve seen through G12, the true power of a dream. When you persevere and when you believe in that dream that God has given you, it has a power.

My father received that dream and now, we’re seeing the results of believing in it. The dream was that through twelve, just as Jesus, he was able to influence not only his city, Bogota, but his nation, and not only his nation but the different nations of the world. He believed that word and now we have the largest church in Colombia and the fastest-growing church in the world which is in MCI, Colombia. There are over 200,000 people in our church. On March 19th, it will be our 28th anniversary. So it’s been 28 years of believing God as well as receiving and persevering in the dream and now, we see that that dream has come all the way to Asia and has influenced thousands of people.

It’s truly just being obedient to the voice of God, to the word of God because it’s from the commandment where Jesus says ‘Go out and make disciples.’ That’s exactly what we’re doing. So I’m seeing that there is power when we persevere.

What kind of role do you think the younger generation, specifically teenagers like yourself, can play in the G12 movement?

I think that G12 doesn’t have an age limit. You don’t have to be old or young, but it’s really looking for people who are willing to serve God with all their hearts.

As young people, I believe we are the fire of the church and we bring life, joy and something new. Young people are just so passionate about God. When they truly are determined to serve God, they can really shake things up. If you’re a young person, I motivate you to truly believe that God has called you and to believe that it is your time to give yourselves completely to Him and see His dream come alive.

So, being at the G12 Asia conference, how do you feel about the delegates here?

I love Asia, and I love what God is doing here. I love the people, they’re passionate about God. I believe that this is only the start of what’s to come for Asia.

Is there something unique you see about Asia, something different from the other continents?

Yes. I love the excellence that Asians do in everything. They’re so excellent and when they set their minds to something, they do it and they do it with excellence. So, that’s something I admire about Asians.

If you had to say something to Asians, what would it be?

I would say, give yourselves a hundred percent to God and you will see the power of a dream in your lives.
