The Pre-Encounter

Prior to attending an Encounter Weekend, a new believer goes through the Pre-Encounter.

The goal of the Pre-Encounter is to help the new believer begin his new life in Christ and prepare him for a life-changing encounter with God at the Encounter Weekend.

The purposes of the Pre-Encounter are:

1. To let the new believer know that God desires to have an encounter with him, to reconcile him to Himself and to restore to him abundant life.
2. To help the new believer understand that the death of Jesus on the Cross has brought about a divine exchange, so that he can experience deliverance and receive blessings.
3. To help the new believer understand what took place when he gave his life to Christ so he can enjoy full assurance of his right standing before God.
4. To help the new believer understand the need to grow spiritually and know how to grow.
5. To introduce the Holy Spirit to the new believer and help him understand that the Holy Spirit is God, He is our Helper, and He is with us to help us walk in the ways of God.
6. To help the new believer know who our enemy, the devil, is and how to live a life of integrity, free from the control of the devil.
7. To give the new believer an idea of what to expect at the Encounter.

We use Pastor Cesar Castellanos’ book “Pre-Encounter” as the material for the Pre-Encounter lessons. A new believer needs other believers to help him in his walk with God. Therefore, we recommend that new believers attend the Pre-Encounter classes with their consolidators. The Pre-Encounter lessons are covered over 2 sessions:

Requirements:

• A person has to attend both Sessions 1 & 2 to be deemed to have completed Pre-Encounter
• Session 1 must be completed before attending Session 2
• Make-up sessions are available as per above schedule
